Deposit Minimization Treatment (DMT) during 2009 fall outage.
The new DMT process, AREVA’s green alternative for SG deposit removal, proves to be even more successful than in its first application. A cumulative total of over 2,500 pounds of magnetite was removed from our customer’s three SGs, exceeding the total of its first application by more than 400 pounds. This fast, environmentally friendly and effective process can help you prolong your steam generator life; and most importantly, enhance the operating performance of your plant.
We can apply DMT to meet the demands of complex outage scopes and schedules. The unique DMT chemistry enables multiple applications within the steam generator lifetime corrosion allowance. The magnetite removed from the steam generator is reformed into a solid secondary waste, so virtually all process water becomes clean water. To put it simply, DMT gets the job done without generating large volumes of secondary liquid waste.
