NDE Training Courses - Now Offered! AREVA NP Nondestructive Examination Training Program: Knowledge is Power
TRAINING COURSES Listed below are the current course offerings for NDE and related training. Classroom theory takes the student from the basic principals of physics for each NDE method through the application of select methodologies for finding and characterizing indications of flaws found during an examination. The laboratory portion of the training consists of using the theory learned in the classroom and applying it to detect and characterize flaws in mock-ups, while learning the use and care of the equipment for each NDE method. The basic NDE courses combine the classroom and laboratory sessions giving students a “learn as you go” experience for those relatively simple to learn and use NDE methods, such as dye penetrant, magnetic particle and visual. For more complex courses, such as eddy current and ultrasonics, the training may be offered in separate classroom and laboratory sessions. AREVA NP also recommends combined classroom and laboratory packages for these methods since the “learn as you go” concept can be approached which reinforces each step of the theory by actually demonstrating the effects on real samples of engineering materials and mockups which contain real flaws. In addition to the tailoring of class content to meet the specific goals of the student, AREVA NP can develop new courses as new needs are determined by prospective students. For instance, in the eddy current method, application specific training for array probe technologies, automated analysis, equipment maintenance, software applications, etc., can be offered. AREVA NP will quote a price for customer-specific course offerings upon request. The primary site for training is AREVA NP's Mill Ridge Road facility in historic Lynchburg, Va. However, arrangements may be made to conduct classes at other customer locations or perhaps at your site aboard our mobile trailer. There is no pre-determined annual schedule for holding these classes and AREVA NP can plan a time for the courses that matches the needs of the students. Prices quoted below assume training at AREVA NP's facility. The standard minimum class size is five. For any questions or for course registration, please contact us via email at: NDEtrainingAdmins@areva.com. We look forward to working with you. *New Course (24 hours) NDE for Engineers Price: $1,000 per student ECT-100 (16 hours) Eddy Current Platform Support Technician Price: $750 per student ECT-120 (40 hours) Eddy Current Level I Price: $1,050 per student ECT-121 (40 hours) Eddy Current Level II Price: $1,050 per student ECT-122 (40 hours) Eddy Current Data Analyst Price: $1,400 per student ECT-122A (80 hours) Qualified Data Analyst (QDA) Price: $2,800 per student ECT-122AR (24 hours) Qualified Data Analyst (QDA) Re-qualification Price: $1,200 per student ECT-123 (40 hours) Eddy Current Level III Price: $1,800 per student ECT-126 (32 hours) Eddy Current Familiarization Price: $1,250 per student ECT-128 (24 hours) QA Surveillance of Steam Generator Eddy Current Inspection Price: $800 per student ECT-200 (16 hours) Eddy Current Data Management Fundamentals Price: $500 per student TIE-200 (24 hours) Condition Monitoring and Operational Assessment Price: $750 per student ECT201.2 (40 hours) Eddynet Inspection Management System (EIMS) $1,100 per student ECT-202.3/.4 (40 hours) FDMS $1,100 per student MTT-111 (16 hours) Level I Magnetic Particle Testing (MT) Price: $600 per student MTT-112 (16 hours) Level II Magnetic Particle Testing (MT) Price: $600 per student PTT-111 (8 hours) Level I Dye Penetrant Testing (PT) Price: $300 per student PTT-112 (8 hours) Level II Dye Penetrant Testing (PT) Price: $300 per student VTT-111 (8 hours) Level I Visual Examination (VT) Price: $300 per student VTT-112 (8 hours) Level II Visual Examination (VT) Price: $300 per student VTT-113 (24 hours) ASME Section XI Level II Visual Examination (VT) Price: $600 per student UTT-111T (40 hours) Level I Ultrasonic Examination Classroom (UT) Price: $1,000 per student UTT-111L (40 hours) Level I Ultrasonic Examination Laboratory (UT) Price: $1,000 per student UTT-111C (80 hours) Combined Level I Ultrasonic Examination Classroom and Laboratory (UT) Price: $1,800 per student (a savings of $200 over the individual courses) UTT-112T (40 hours) Level II Ultrasonic Examination Classroom (UT) Price: $1,000 per student UTT-112L (40 hours) Level II Ultrasonic Examination Laboratory (UT) Price: $1,000 per student UTT-112C (80 hours) Combined Level II Ultrasonic Examination Classroom and Laboratory (UT) Price: $1,800 per student (a savings of $200 over the individual courses) INS-200 (40 hours) NDT Instructor Price: $1,200 per student ASME-300 (40 hours) ASME Section III Price: $1,600 per student.
