Bethesda, Md., December 16th, 2005 AREVA Joint Venture Wins Contract to Replace Steam Generators at PSEG Nuclear Unit AREVA via Framatome ANP* and Washington Group International announced today that their joint venture, SGT LLC, has been awarded a contract by PSEG Nuclear to provide services for replacing steam generators at Salem Nuclear Unit 2, located at Hancocks Bridge, N.J. SGT will provide project management, planning, engineering, licensing and construction services for the replacement of four steam generators at Salem Unit 2, a 1,150-MW pressurized water reactor. The work is scheduled to take place during a refueling outage in the Spring of 2008. The replacement steam generators will be supplied by AREVA under a separate contract. AREVA is the only major supplier that manufactures its own large nuclear power plant components, and the company previously supplied replacement reactor vessel heads for both Salem units. The new vessel heads were installed this year during scheduled refueling outages. SGT has completed or is under contract for steam generator or reactor vessel head replacements at nuclear power plants in Arkansas, California, Florida, Maryland, Minnesota, Missouri, New York, North Carolina, South Carolina, New Jersey and Wisconsin. SGT has set several domestic and international records for performance and schedule durations. * Framatome ANP is an AREVA (66%) and Siemens (34%) company. |
