Over the past 30 years, AREVA NP has become the world’s leading designer and builder of nuclear power plants.

 AREVA NP supplies:
 nuclear islands and nuclear steam supply systems (design, manufacture, erection and start-up),
engineering services for the modernization of existing plants,
instrumentation & control systems for nuclear power plants.
The company has built 100 of the 303 light water nuclear reactors in service worldwide. These reactors represent a total installed power of nearly 100,000 MWe, or 31 percent of the world’s installed capacity generated using this technology.

New generation reactors
AREVA NP offer Generation III+ reactor models to meet the strictest requirements for safety and competitiveness.

the EPR reactor, a large-power pressurized water reactor in the range of 1600 MWe, under construction in Finland and in France, in project in China, United States and UK.

|
the ATMEA1, a mid-sized generation III+ pressurized water reactor designed for medium capacity electric grids. This reactor is currently under development in partnership with Mitsubishi Heavy.

the KERENA™ reactor, a cutting-edge boiling-water reactor in the range of 1,250 MWe,
Together with the EPR and ATMEA1, this generation III+ reactor is currently regarded as offering maximum safety for the use of nuclear power.
AREVA NP also offers Generation II+ PWR reactors adapted to customers' specific needs in the continuity of their national programs, for example in China and Brazil.

Nuclear engineering services
AREVA NP’s international teams offer their expertise in all disciplines of nuclear engineering to service all types of plants currently in operation worldwide. These include:
improving safety levels,
increasing performance (power output, competitiveness, operational flexibility),
extending plant life.
These teams use state-of-the art engineering tools and methods. In particular, they have internationally-recognized test and qualification installations.

Instrumentation & Control systems and Electrical systems
AREVA NP develops and supplies I&C and electrical systems for nuclear power plants as well as for operating plants whether renewal, backfitting or modernization projects - worldwide for all types of nuclear power plants and reactors.
For safety I&C systems, AREVA NP implements the TELEPERM XS system platform, the worldwide market leader in digital safety applications, based on an evolutionary innovation concept to ensure long-term availability and after-sales support.
