Framatome is a major international player in the nuclear energy market recognised for its innovative and engineering solutions encompassing value-added technologies for designing, building, maintaining, and advancing the global nuclear assets in the power, defence, space and health industries. The company designs, manufactures, and installs components, fuel and instrumentation and control systems for nuclear power plants and offers a full range of reactor services.

In the UK we are currently over 300 strong and our plans are to grow to 400-500 by 2025 through the development our UK nuclear service offerings.

We are now seeking additional Configuration Managers as part of our localised Techno Bricks teams to work and support within our business and our end-user delivery teams. This will bring an additional configuration management understanding (to passive and active systems including Class 1 and 2), with multi-disciplinary engineering knowledge and in depth understanding of Elec, Mech, HVAC, Process, C&I, Civil engineering disciples that will be complimented with the ability of delivery resolution, conflict mediation, and open point resolution / solution oriented approaches with taking ownership to bring delivery successes.

You will be responsible for the delivery of the key requirements which will include:

  • Register of managed baselines (having been through gap analysis and confirmation process to ensure the correct baselines are being established and managed).
  • Baseline owners register (baseline interfacing to support owners accountable for the quality of the content held within the baseline register and is validated).
  • Integration with multiple project areas to ensure all baselines can be mapped, understood, and information is accessible, and accurate when required.
  • Integration with the project lifecycle delivery package and engineering teams to ensure that the baselines are updated, maintained at project delivery/handover is robust and successful.
  • Facilitate, Manage, Mediate, Support and Resolve blockers and issues encountered.
  • Show presence, establish working relationships and techniques to gain completion success
  • Provide status and report visibility, of successes, needs and closure strategies.

Key responsibilities will also include:

  • Establish, implement and maintain formal audit processes to check that Configuration is being managed internally and externally across the project delivery organisation into the nuclear baseline.
  • Establish and maintain the agreed standards to be followed by the site teams and support the delivery improvements to gain the successes ·      targeted, and report accordingly status and blockers, with were possible providing solutions balanced with governance.
  • Identification of the Baselines, and gaps that need to be captured and managed to completion.
  • Configuration management – procedure development, enhancement, and integration with the Change Process.

  • Experience of Electrical, Control & Instrumentation (hardware and software), Security, Mechanical Handling, Process, Ventilations, Bespoke Assets, Civils and Structural integration for applications in critical assets, machinery, radiological monitoring, and process plant.
  • Experience of designing/leading and in particular the completion of active and passive systems packages.
  • Demonstrable and sound technical knowledge of theoretical and practical design and operations aspects of system engineering of passive assets and facilities of similar high security nature
  • Experience with plant and documentation configuration management.
  • Ability to demonstrate Design, Construction and Delivery Issues and Gap Identification, evidencing, and case build-up as to apply resolution to open points, blockers encountered.
  • Demonstrable evidence of the full understanding of the full life cycle of a complex asset in the nuclear industry or similar heavily regulated industries.
  • Understanding of passive and actives assets for Function Design, Technical and Performance Specifications Development and Writing.
  • An awareness of how the component engineering, system aspects align and integrate within a complex asset and project environment that could translate into a latent defect or unwanted safety condition.
